Rooms and Tariffs Getting Here

Situated on the North Wales coast, Anglesey's impressive shoreline attracts visitors all year round with its wide variety of beaches and striking coastline. Trearddur Bay itself is a beautiful sandy beach which provides ample opportunities for watersports enthusiasts and families alike, whilst the surrounding coves provide a quiet retreat.

Much of Anglesey has been declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and Trearddur Bay's main beach was awarded the European Blue Flag in both 2002 and 2003 for the cleanliness of its sand and water. Ingledene itself is only yards away from the beach, affording beautiful views across Anglesey to the Snowdonia mountain range at the rear, as well as stunning sunsets across the bay to Holyhead mountain from the front.

Day trips to Ireland are available from the Port Town of Holyhead only 2 miles away, which can take just 99 minutes with Stena Line or Irish Ferries. Prices start from as little as £10 per person. There is an excellent Maritime Museum in the town and the local arts centre, the Ucheldre Centre, is worth a visit for exhibitions of local arts and crafts as well as concerts and plays. The Ucheldre Kitchen serves a wide range of teas, coffees and homemade cakes.

Fishing, riding and golf facilities are all available in Trearddur Bay and there is a leisure centre in Holyhead. There are restaurants within walking distance serving a wide variety of meals and the local pub is only one hundred yards down the road. In the wider area there are Indian, Chinese and Thai restaurants/takeaways.

Trace the history of the area from the Celtic remains and the ancient hut circles on Holyhead Mountain to the Roman Fort in Holyhead and the remains of the quarry (now incorporated in the Breakwater Park) which provided the stone to build the mile long breakwater which protects the harbour.

For spectacular views (and energetic climbs!) visit the lighthouse at South Stack. Standing on a rocky island just off the coast and approached by steps down the cliffs and a suspension bridge the lighthouse is open to visitors throughout the summer. Even for those who do not venture down the cliffs, a visit to South Stack is worthwhile for the views alone and the variety of bird life to be seen from there and the nearby Ellin's Tower run by the RSPB.

Ingledene provides an excellent base for a beach or water sports holiday, for coastal walks or just visiting the many attractions that the Isle of Anglesey has to offer. For a relaxing holiday far away from the stress and bustle of modern life come to Trearddur Bay on the beautiful island of Anglesey, North Wales.
